Help me, friends-list!

1. Should I get a Sun SIM? Certain people who shall remain nameless have been bugging me to do so.

2. Should I get a phone exclusively for the Sun number?

3. If I do get a phone for the Sun, I can't afford to buy a new one. Anybody selling or know someone who's selling a 2nd hand phone, cheap? My budget is in the P1k - P3k range.

Also, any tips, advice, and amusing anecdotes are welcome.
